‘Boucherouite’ in Dareeja (Moroccan Arabic) means a piece of used cloth, clothing. Carpets known as ‘boucherouite’ are hand-woven using the traditional knot method from various types of previously used textiles, wool, cotton, artificial fibers, lurex or nylon. In modern jargon ‘boucherouite’ would be termed as ‘upcycled’.

Our cheerful checkered runner too, is a boucherouite. A colourful sustainable piece that gives new life to pre-loved material, a pretty piece of meaningful beauty for your home! ♥
